Welcome to Biruni University Faculty of Dentistry
Turkish language education at Biruni University Faculty of Dentistry started in the 2014-2015 academic year, and English language education started in the 2018-2019 academic year. We are proud to give our first graduates in 2019. Our faculty believes that the graduates they have trained will start their professional lives and make a difference by mastering all the innovations in their profession in terms of theoretical and clinical practice, knowing how to learn and access information, having high self-confidence, communication, and empathy abilities and adopting ethical values.
Our educational curriculum includes basic medical sciences and dentistry field courses for the first three years, as well as pre-clinical practice courses that improve the professional skills of our students. Our pre-clinical practices are held in fully equipped Prosthetic and Phantom laboratories, and applications on the patient are taught. 4th and 5th in the classroom, diagnostic and treatment practices are carried out on the patient under the supervision of our faculty members in our clinics equipped with up-to-date technology. Our faculty provides students with the ability to learn and practice fundamental and clinical dentistry knowledge, as well as create an environment in which they can perform scientific work, allowing them to obtain superior competence. Communication skills, social responsibility, and professional solidarity awareness are also provided to students through activities and projects conducted with the participation of students within our faculty.
Our graduates can open their practice and clinics or be employed in private or public institutions providing oral and dental health services. Those who wish to continue their graduate studies can study in the specialty of the Specialty Examination in Dentistry (DUS) within the framework of the OSYM rules in the branch they are interested in, or they can apply to the graduate programs of state or foundation universities and receive doctoral education. Our faculty provides doctoral education in the main branches of Oral, Dental, and Maxillofacial Surgery, Orthodontics, Periodontology, and Prosthetic Dental Treatment after graduation. In our faculty, which continues its efforts to spread doctoral education in all departments, specialized training will also begin soon.
The task of the Faculty of Dentistry is to ensure that highly qualified individuals who will carry out oral and dental health services in our country participate in the workforce. Our faculty stands out with its respected and dynamic academic staff with professional experience in national and international fields. Our academic staff is determined to move our faculty to a respected, leading faculty that guides science nationally and internationally in a short time with a modern understanding of education that supports research, scientific development, and success in a free.
We know that success is a team effort and a long journey, and we would like to thank our dear colleagues from all academic and administrative staff for their efforts and support.
