The program was held in Reyhan Conference Hall of our University and was attended by our Rector Prof. Dr. Adnan Yüksel, Vice President of Istanbul Chamber of Dentists Prof. Dr. Ender Kazazoğlu, faculty members, students and their families.
Dean of the Faculty of Dentistry Prof. Dr. İlknur Özcan gave the opening speech of the program. Özcan stated that; students who join the Faculty of Medicine family are entrusted to their care, and that they will remain in their care throughout their education. they will always be with them and that they will be good dentists for our country after graduation. To ensure the success of the program, Dean Prof. Dr. İlknur Özcan said, ” As Biruni University Faculty of Dentistry, we provide our students who are at the beginning of a long and difficult process, with a modern dentistry program starting from the first year, also qualified infrastructure equipped with new technologies and experienced faculty members for five years.
Prof. Dr. Ender Kazazoğlu, Vice President of Istanbul Chamber of Dentists, also shared his experience in dentistry and advised students to continue to improve themselves after graduation.
Afterwards, our Rector Prof. Dr. Adnan Yüksel gave a speech at the Faculty of Dentistry saying that our faculty is among the strong ones among the university and added;
“Dear Students; please be respectful to your teachers, patients and parents. Good communication
is a must. It is not enough to be a good dentist. You need to communicate well. You have studied to learn, not to pass, to have a profession and today you will wear white coats. White coat resembles
innocence, purity, cleanliness. Medicine is a sacred profession. You are stepping into a sacred world. You will see the value of this both materially and spiritually in the future. My expectation from you is this. I know that you will become a very good dentist by receiving very important information from very qualified faculty members at a quality university and a quality faculty. I have no worries about this. You should not be worried either. I just want you to grow up as a patriotic individual who loves his/her homeland and nation, who is always respectful to his/her family.”
After the opening speeches, the white coats were given to these dentist candidates by the rector, protocol members and academics.
