Our fourth year student at the Faculty of Dentistry (English), Muammer Alhan Babat, was elected as the chairman of the Turkish Dental Association Student Branch Central Commission, which includes 88 dental faculties.
The 10th Ordinary General Assembly of the Turkish Dental Association Student Branch Central Committee was held in Ankara. Student Branch Local Commission delegates of our dental chambers attended the general assembly, which made significant contributions to the formation of professional organisation awareness. 435 delegates were determined as a result of the elections held in 84 of the 88 Faculty of Dentistry providing training for the general assembly. The general assembly was held with the participation of 331 delegates from 82 faculties. In the committee, where there was a large participation, the elections were held after the collection and discussion of the motions. Our 4th year student at the Faculty of Dentistry (English), Muammer Alhan Babat and his team won the election.
We won by saying “life is beautiful together!”
Our fourth year student at the Faculty of Dentistry (English), Muammer Alhan Babat, who claimed the Presidency of the TDA 10th Term Central Commission, after the elections that took place, said that they were ready for a successful term and gave the following messages for the 10th term: “When I started this path, my dream was; to reach all the local student branch delegates and 45,000 dental students throughout Turkey, to find solutions to our problems with the polyphony of all of us; At the same time, it was to show the representation we deserve in the activities we will organise, both at the national and international level, with the power of our unification.”
“We will be pioneers in brand new pursuits.”
Emphasizing the importance of professional organization and solidarity, Babat continued his words as follows: “We have worked hard for months and we have created a qualified team that includes all dentistry students and delegates from every region of Turkey. That day, I saw the light of change and also the courage to change, in the eyes of our delegates who were in that hall. I am happy to be the leader and chairman of such an enthusiastic, determined and decisive team. I sincerely believe that, we will be pioneers in brand new persuits with the support of my teammates and my passion. We said, with the loudest and highest pitch, “Life is Beautiful Together!” and we succeeded.
Represented our university at the international level
Our student Muammer Alhan Babat is also the Founding President of Biruni University Dental Students’ Association (BUDSA). Muammer Alhan Babat, who has represented our University many times internationally, also chaired the ‘Biruni University Clinical Exchange’ program in cooperation with BUDSA and the International Association of Dental Students (IADS). Our student continues to carry out his professional studies with IADS.
